The Purple Babaulti Shrimp is one of the most stunning and unusual members of the Babaulti group. Their bodies shine with rich purples, violets, and plum tones that shift depending on lighting and mood — creating an elegant, mystical look in any planted tank. Their subtle striping and natural sheen make them especially beautiful on darker substrates and lush green moss.

Just like their Zebra relatives, Purple Babaultis can swiftly change colour when alarmed or startled, deepening or lightening their tones in seconds. This dramatic shift is a natural, harmless behaviour — and incredibly captivating to watch.

They are peaceful, hardy, and wonderful grazers, thriving in planted, mature aquariums with plenty of biofilm. A perfect choice for shrimp keepers who want that exotic look.

• Can be kept in Neocaridina or Caridina setups
